On September 20, DGFEZ introduced its current status to about 10 small and medium-sized companies from Brandenburg, Germany. The event included a tour of the Pohang Fusion Tech District and EcoPro Pohang Campus, a secondary battery-based company.
Brandenburg is a leader in Germany's electric mobility industry, hosting Tesla's Gigafactory, BASF's secondary battery anode material plant, and Mercedes-Benz's manufacturing facility. It is also home to global pharmaceutical companies like Takeda, Berlin Chemie, Bayer, and Beiersdorf, all actively engaged in pharmaceutical and bio-related research and manufacturing.
Small and medium-sized companies in Brandenburg, Germany, are renowned for their excellent manufacturing capabilities and innovative technologies, including Laser Microtech's Laser Robot Production, applied to batteries, semiconductors, automobiles, electronics, hydrogen, and more.
During the event, DGFEZ elaborated on the strengths of each district within DGFEZ, discussed the Pohang Fusion Tech District's role as a bio R&D center, and introduced the Green Vaccine Demonstration Support Center.
Kim Byeong Sam, the commissioner of DGFEZ, emphasized, Pohang has created a perfect cluster for secondary battery businesses, with companies like EcoPro, L&F, POSCO Future M, and LG BCM (Chemical).
