CBFEZ has achieved the investment attraction goal of 2 trillion won in 2022

- Attracting investment of 2002.6 billion won from in total of 45 companies and institutions -

Chungbuk Free Economic Zone (CBFEZ) Authority has achieved its investment attraction goal of KRW 2 trillion in 2022, the year CBFEZ Commissioner Maeng Kyung-jae was inaugurated. According to the authority, after the investment agreement of KRW 95 billion with three manufacturing companies signed on December 19, investment attraction achievements in 2022 have become KRW 2002.6 billion as of December 19, 2022 from in total of 45 companies and institutions, which means the increase by 226% compared to last year.

The backgrounds of the success in investment attraction were, additional expansion to service industries besides manufacturing and researchㆍsupporting institutions, expansion of investment attraction areas to the entire Chungbuk region, the entire personnel of the authority’s involvement in investment attraction promotion task, which is differentiated from the last year’s investment attraction strategies.

Major investment attraction achievement was attracting in total of 21 manufacturing and researchㆍsupporting institutions including foreigner investing companies such as the preclinical study specialized company (Naason Science Inc.) and the first foot-and-mouth disease vaccine manufacturing company (FVC, FMD Vaccine Company) within Osong Bio Valley.

Moreover, the authority has attracted in total of 23 service companies including hotels, officetels, and grocery markets to improve the settlement environment of Osong International City and residential environment within Aeropolis. It will also establish maintenance facilities including 119 aviation maintenance rooms and 32 helicopters held by the National Fire Agency within Aeropolis 2.

*By field : Service industry 1373.1 billion won (68.6%), manufacturing industry 530.8 billion won (26.5%), researchㆍsupporting institutions 62.5 billion won (3.1%), public institutions (firefighting) 36.2 billion won (1.8%)

** By district : Within CBFEZ, 32 cases, 1161.8 billion won (58%), outside of CBFEZ, 13 cases, 840.8 billion won (42%)

Especially, taking about 69% of the investment attraction results this year, service industry is the essential industry promoted by the CBFEZ Authority since this year to foster a new settlement environment for revitalizing FDIs and attracting outstanding foreigner human resources, which is expected to be the new growth momentum to foster the only international city in the Jungbu region.

CBFEZ Commissioner Maeng Kyung-jae said, “The entire personnel of the CBFEZ Authority has tried so had that we have achieved the investment attraction goal this year. We will continue to put the utmost efforts to foster the international city Osong to become the only global business hub of the Junbgu region with the population of 100 thousand.”
